The Collar Board is designated for the wet-heat processing of collars, cuffs, and angles of all kinds. With its pointed ends, the Board allows the in-process pressing of nearly all hard-to-reach areas and small elements of garment cutouts.
The platform (the rest) of the Collar Board can also be used as Point Presser and Pounder — for cooling seams and pressing them open. Wood is a good absorber for heat and moisture — as a result, you can reduce the thickness of seams as much as possible while fixing the shape of the garment.
The Collar Board with its pointed angles is made out of a broadleaved wood species — alder tree. We do not manufacture our Boards from coniferous wood species since, when heated and steamed, they produce resins, which can spoil your product.
The Collar Board is manually smoothed and polished what provides a 100% guarantee against damaging products and makes it suitable for work with the most delicate fabrics. The Board is manufactured with hidden fixings; it is practical in use and smells pleasant like natural wood.
Maintenance recommendations for the Board: do not keep the Board in wet, unheated rooms, for example, in unglazed balconies or unheated utility rooms. Do not let it fall down, or else splits and cracks may appear. If, with age, burrs have appeared on the surfaces of your Board, — it should be very easy to remove them with fine sandpaper. If the Board have been dented, — you should take a piece of cloth, put it on the dented place, and iron it properly.
On our web store, you can order various Tailor’s Boards of all sizes and from materials you need — at your option: beech, alder, oak tree. The prices may vary depending on sizes and materials.
