The Tailor’s Ham is the most popular type among the Tailor’s Cushions. The Tailor’s Ham is considered as a multipurpose cushion for performing the WHP. Using this tool, you can properly perform lots of operations you may need:
With an ironing board, you can hardly perform so many complex and necessary WHP-operations; it is the reason why you should use the Tailor’s Cushions of different form and size.
And what is more, the Tailor’s Ham is useful not only for pressing products — you can also use it in sewing when assembling different garment parts. This is because the rest parts of the garment will hang down and nothing will hinder you in performing required operations. You will have to handle only the garment pieces to be assembled.
In general, the Tailor’s Ham is a must-have tool. Even if you have the Tailor's Boards, the Cushions for the WHP should be much more light-weighted, being within your reach at any moment.
The Tailor’s Ham has two working sides — for ironing light and dark coloured fabrics.
In terms of design, the Tailor’s Ham is manufactured with a double-layer outer cover. This prevents the migration of shavings along its length and breadth. The inner layer is made from coarse calico; the exterior one is made from a 100% flax cloth.
Each Tailor’s Ham is tightly and manually filled with shavings produced from a broadleaved hardwood species – beech tree. We produce the shavings at our own production capacities grading them to size and sifting, and we take responsibility for their quality. Our beech tree shavings do not produce any resins, and this is a very important point during the WHP. Heated and steamed, the shavings will not produce any resins — ensuring that you will not spoil your products in 100% cases.
